For 2017, the Nissan Pathfinder® is back and better than ever. The latest and greatest version of this midsize crossover features bold new exterior styling, more driver-assistance and connectivity features, increased towing power, and a big boost in horsepower. Speaking about the redesign, Michael Bunce, vice president for product planning at Nissan North America, Inc., had this to say: “The Nissan Pathfinder has an amazing heritage as one of the modern pioneers in the SUV segment, with more than 30 years in the marketplace, yet we are always looking forward – as the Pathfinder name implies.”
The exterior updates to the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder include changes to the headlights, taillights, front fascia, and some of the body lines. The result is a more unique family hauler that stands out from the pack. Inside, the NissanConnectSM infotainment system now utilizes a larger, standard 8-inch touchscreen with updated graphics and improved voice recognition. An available family entertainment package adds 8-inch screens to the back of the front headrests with HDMI and USB inputs. To boost safety, the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder adds automatic emergency braking, moving object detection, and more.
Under the hood, the redesigned Nissan Pathfinder boasts a new V-6 engine with a direct fuel-injection system. This update boosts horsepower to 284, and, when properly equipped, jumps maximum towing capacity up to a class-leading 6,000 pounds.
Of course, the biggest strength of the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder is that it had such a strong foundation to build on.
