One thing’s for sure: Nissan is excited about the Olympics this year. The company is providing a fleet of 4,200 vehicles to the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Among this fleet are plenty of Nissan LEAF® models, as well as a new Nissan SUV currently available only in South America. The company’s British office is also sponsoring 10 Olympic and 6 Paralympic athletes. As an added incentive, the automaker has designed gold Nissan LEAF EV models to be awarded to these athletes if they take home the gold medal. Think they’ll repaint it silver? We’re pulling for the home team here at Hall Nissan Virginia Beach! The golden autos are certainly a sight to behold. The radiant vehicles are adorned with “Rio 2016 Gold Medalist” on the hood, both sides of the car, and the rear bumper.
Nissan has also developed the Olympic Diehard Fan™ Nations app. The app uses augmented reality technology to allow users to virtually paint their face with one of nearly 2,000 designs. There are up to 20 different designs for each of the more than 200 nations participating in the Olympic games this summer. The app comes on the heels of Nissan brand's original Diehard Fan™ College Athletics app, which allows users to show their support for their favorite college team. The Diehard Fan™ apps employ some pretty impressive technology that blends state of the art digital face mapping with traditional face painting skills.
We may not have any gold models in stock, but you can still come in to Hall Nissan Virginia Beach to test drive a new Nissan LEAF model.
