There are some next-year models that everybody knows about well before they’re unveiled to the public, and then there are vehicles that remain a bit of a mystery. The 2020 Nissan Sentra falls into that latter category, as not a lot has been revealed about this sedan. There is, however, a car in China that can offer some hints about what we can expect when the new Nissan Sentra hits our shores.

New Look for 2020

While the 2019 Nissan Sentra was a sharp-looking vehicle, the new model will be even snazzier. It has a design inspired by the Nissan Altima, with a hood that has a downward slope, along with a V-motion grille and wide headlights.

Power and Performance

The 2020 Nissan Sentra comes with a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder that will give you 149 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Every trim comes with an enhanced multilink suspension system for the rear axle, which takes the place of the torsion beam found in older models.

Nissan vehicles have long had a reputation for their safety, and the 2020 Nissan Sentra will be no exception. In fact, the 2019 model was named a top safety pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Nissan Shield 360® comes standard in the 2020 Nissan Sentra, and this includes blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning.
