Our Favorite Nissan Safety Features

We love our selection of 2019 Nissan models for sale here in the Virginia Beach, VA area like the 2019 Nissan Altima. We don’t just love these models because of their fantastic looks and immense comfort; we also love them because of something that’s more important than ever today: their safety features.

Here at Hall Nissan Virginia Beach, we want to break down three of our favorite safety features to help you when it comes time to find a new car.

Nissan stands apart from the rest of the pack for its proprietary Nissan Safety Shield technology. The Nissan Safety Shield is the umbrella term that all safety and driver aid features fall under such as Intelligent Cruise Control and Emergency Braking.

The Nissan Safety Shield works in three parts: Monitor, Respond, and Protect. While the Respond and Protect areas contain the standard safety features we’ve had for decades like an anti-lock braking system, the Monitor area brings to the table the three features we love most.

The first feature we love is Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) And Automatic Emergency Braking With Pedestrian Detection. This feature works by alerting you to potential collisions and can apply the brakes for you.

The second feature we enjoy is Blind Spot Warning (BSW). BSW works by detecting another vehicle in the blind spot area. An indicator appears in the driver’s or front passenger’s door pillar and on the Advanced Drive-Assist Display.

Finally, we love the Intelligent Around View Monitor (AVM). This system uses multiple cameras to give you a virtual 360-degree view of your vehicle. You can even customize what area around your car you see.

As your Virginia Beach Nissan dealership, we know that the best way to experience these features and all others is to visit us at 3757 Bonney Road for a test drive. We’ll be happy to showcase all the latest features.
